The Loan Report

Adnan Januzaj – Sunderland
The 22-year-old midfielder assisted both Defoe goals in his 78 minutes in a 4-0 win away at Crystal Palace. Januzaj has now made 16 appearances for Sunderland, 12 of them as a starter. Used in an attacking midfield role for David Moyes’ side, he showed the creativity and technical ability needed to make it at the top level. It is a positive return for the young playmaker who will look to continue in the same way over the remaining season.

Andreas Pereira – Granada
The 21-year-old Brazilian youngster scored what turned out to be the decisive goal in a 1-0 victory over Las Palmas on Monday. In the 17th minute, Pereira used his first touch to set the ball up before lashing home a fabulous volley from outside the area. That was his second league goal of the season for the team who are second bottom in La Liga.

Sam Johnstone – Aston Villa
The 23-year-old goalkeeper played for the full 90 minutes in Aston Villas away defeat to Nottingham Forest. The stopper made an error which led to Brit Assombalonga’s equaliser when he failed to hold Jamie Ward’s fierce shot. Johnstone was the source of some frustration from Villa supporters after the game. He has now made 5 appearances in all competitions this season.

Guillermo Varela – Frankfurt
Varela is still recovering from Injuring his ankle ligaments in September.
