The Manchester United Loan Report

Adnan Januzaj – Sunderland

The afternoon started positively for the young attacking midfielder after his early shot was deflected behind. The Belgian then found Defoe with a low cross but it was slightly over hit and the striker miss cued his shot wide. Just before half time and Sunderland were behind due to a controversial goal. Seconds before the break, Januzaj’s side found themselves 2-0 down and they did not recover from that. Januzaj completed the full match but was not able to offer much in the latter stages. Sunderland remain bottom of the league table.

Sam Johnstone – Aston Villa

The 23-year-old goalkeeper played for the full 90 minutes in Aston Villas first home defeat of the season, 1-0 to Ipswich. Johnstone had an uneventful first half with the home side dominating play but unable to force a way through. Ipswich came out after the break and troubled Johnstone’s goal more. He failed to hold a corner ten minutes after the break, but nothing came of it. For the next 20 minutes his goal was under threat but with no shots on target. That was until the 83rd minute when the referee played advantage and a low cross was finished from within the six yard box. There was little Johnstone could do to prevent the goal.

Andreas Pereira – Granada

The 21-year-old Brazilian started and played 57 minutes during Granada’s 4-0 loss away to Eibar. Pereira could have little impact on a game which saw his side outclassed. That result leaves them stranded in the bottom three in La Liga.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson (Wolves)

The 20-year-old defender has been told by manager Paul Lambert that he must fight for his place. He has not started a match for the Championship side since Lambert took over the club.
