Player Ratings from Manchester United’s stalemate home draw against West Brom

De Gea-

A quiet afternoon for the Spaniard. Made a couple of regular saves, the only highlight was a clanger from Brunt’s long-range effort, but he avoided it luckily.  6/10

Valencia-

Decent outing from the right back. His trademark surging runs were as usual dangerous for the opposition. Could’ve provided better crosses, though.  6.5/10

Bailly-

Excellent in defence. Didn’t let Rondon find any space to create an attacking threat.  7.5/10

Rojo-

A fiery night for the hot-headed Argentinian. Made some important tackles, but was involved in a tussle with Robson-Kanu and was booked. Not his best recent outing.  6/10

Young-

The new first choice left back seems to have solved the persistent issue in United’s line-up this season. Had a good match both defensively and offensively.  7/10

Carrick-

Not his best of days, but flawlessly commanded the battle in the midfield. Did not provide much service going forward.  6.5/10

Fellaini-

Has repaid Mourinho’s confidence in him with some superb performances in the midfield. Didn’t put a foot wrong, but was culpable for the clear cut opportunity missed in the second half.  7/10

Mkhitaryan-

Had a shocker by his standards. Couldn’t do much to get the breakthrough. Replaced by Rooney in the second half.  6/10

Lingard-

Was clearly United’s best player for most of the match. In Herrera’s absence, he was his side’s Duracell bunny. Was apparently everywhere on the pitch. Just lacked the final pass in some situations.  7.5/10

Martial-

His surging runs from the left were dangerous for the opposition. The resilient back line of West Brom’s defence dealt with him well. Just couldn’t get the touch for a perfect shot throughout the match.  6.5/10

Rashford-

Couldn’t do enough to convince Mourinho that he is Ibrahimovic’s heir apparent. Quiet in the first half, but grew in confidence as the match went on. Was superbly thwarted by Foster on two occasions.  6.5/10

SUBSTITUTES

Rooney (for Mkhitaryan)- Came on in the last quarter of the match trying to find the winner. Couldn’t do much to get the goal that could’ve spared Mourinho’s blushes.

Subs Not Used- Romero, Blind, Darmian, Tuanzebe, Fosu-Mensah, Willock.
