Not at his usual best in both attack and defence, but still a decent outing. Captained his side in a

Solid and powerful as usual. Didn’t give Guidetti and Aspas much space to create any problems.
Blind- 7
Intelligent in possession. Made some great tackles and interceptions. Just needs to work on his set piece routines.
Darmian- 6.5
Infallible at left back but didn’t offer much going forwards. Decent performance from the Italian.
Herrera- 6
Not at his usual best and couldn’t dictate the proceedings in the midfield, but did make some important interceptions and was full of vigour and purpose.
Fellaini- 5
Needs a lot of working on his aggression. Sent off against City and could’ve been sent off here as well, particularly because the hot-headed Belgian was booked after just half an hour.
Pogba- 7
His absence in two games has shown how useful he is in United midfield. Won many duels and created a couple of good chances, particularly the one where he split open the opposition defence to create a wonderful chance for Mkhitaryan.
Mkhitaryan- 5
Has been United’s hero in Europa League but had a poor night here. Missed a chance in the first half which could’ve helped United win by an even bigger margin.
Lingard- 5.5
Missed a great chance in the first half created by Rashford. Could’ve doubled United’s lead in the second half but couldn’t do so. Poor performance overall, as most things didn’t come off for him.
Rashford- 7.5
Saw a brilliant strike saved in the first half and created a great chance for Lingard. Saved his team’s blushes with a sensational free-kick.
SUBSTITUTES-
Young (for Mkhitaryan)- 5
Another injury scare as he looked to have pulled his calf.
Martial (for Rashford)- 5.5
Came on for Rashford who limped off. Couldn’t do much to double United’s lead.
Smalling (for Young)- N/A
Good to see him back from injury, but had little time to create an impression.
