RONALDO RUMORS PERSIST
The Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United story refuses to die down. Zinedine Zidane reportedly had a phone conversation with Ronaldo. While details of the conversation have not been leaked to the press, yet, Ronaldo reportedly told Zidane that he is treated like a criminal in Spain. Other reports suggest that Ronaldo has urged his agent Jorge Mendes to force through a move to Old Trafford.
POGBA’S MESSAGE TO DONNARUMMA
Paul Pogba came out in support of AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma after his fans threw fake dollar bills at the young keeper. The fans’ move comes after the young goalkeeper rejected a new deal at Milan. Pogba said: “Donnarumma soon best in the [world], deserves only respect for all he’s done until now.” United may end up with the Italian shot-stopper should their plan to offer De Gea in a swap deal bringing Ronaldo back home go through. LUKAKU’S RELATIONSHIP WITH JOSE
Former Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien revealed that Jose Mourinho and Romelu Lukaku enjoyed a ‘good relationship’ during the pair’s time at Stamford Bridge. Michael Essien said: “If Jose wants him and he wants to play for Jose then yes they can work together. They both have to want to work with each other for that to happen and if the desire is there then yes they can work together. In general [relationship] was good and normal. I won’t say Romelu’s relationship with Jose was the same as mine but, in general, it was normal and they respected each other.” United are close to a move for Alvaro Morata and it is highly unlikely they will make an attempt to sign Lukaku, unless there is a dramatic change in the current scenario.
