Martial attracting interest while Morata ignores Zidane

WORLD RECORD SIGNING?

Jose Mourinho has reportedly urged the Manchester United board to sign Harry Kane for a world record transfer instead of Cristiano Ronaldo. While it would be very difficult to persuade to convince Daniel Levy and Tottenham to sell their star striker, Levy is known to sell his best players for the right price. While Ronaldo is a better player than Kane at the moment, the latter at 23 would become a vital addition to United’s young core.

NAINGGOLAN CONTACTED

Manchester United and Jose Mourinho have reportedly contacted Roma midfielder Rajda Nainggolan with regards to a move to United. The II Tempo claims that Mourinho personally put forward a proposal to Nainggolan which includes a contract worth around £6.6m a year. But Nainggolan is said to have rejected the offer and underlined his intent to continue at Roma. Earlier this month, Nainggolan was asked about United’s interest and whether a bid was involved. He said: “Maybe it’s true, maybe it isn’t. Right now I just want to go on vacation, then we’ll see what happens. ”

ZIDANE INTERVENTION NOT ENOUGH

Alvaro Morata has reportedly ignored Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane’s pleas to stay at Madrid. While talks are ongoing, Morata has done all he possibly could to force a move to United. Mourinho is said to have convinced Morata to move to United with the promise of regular first team football. United will sign a striker this transfer window after releasing top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic. United and Madrid continue to talks about a ‘fair’ transfer fee.

PRICE TAG SLASHED

Bayern Munich have again slashed the asking price for Portuguese sensation Renato Sanches. Bayern will reportedly agree to sell for a bargain fee of £23m. United would do well to sign the wonderkid after missing out on him last summer. Bayern previously reduced their asking price to around £30m but want to get Sanches off their books. Sanches was not given the opportunity to impress under Ancelotti and wants out.

MARTIAL TO ARSENAL?

Arsenal might make a bid for Anthony Martial if they fail in their attempts to bring Kylian Mbappe to the Emirates. While Martial fell out of favour under Mourinho and started less than half of United’s Premier League, he is unlikely to quit Old Trafford. A £40m bid is expected should Arsenal go ahead with their plans. However, things might be complicated by Mourinho and Wenger’s less than friendly relationship. Wenger is looking for a winger cut out of the same cloth as Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
