Martial denies rumours while Morata cuts short his honeymoon

MARTIAL TO STAY

Manchester United star Anthony Martial took to Twitter to clear his future after being linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

The tweet directly translates to: “The rumors are false.”

He was touted as a second choice winger for Arsenal should they fail in their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe. Wenger is looking for a striker similar to Thierry Henry and Mbappe and Martial are often compared to the great. But Martial is sure to stay at United for the new season.

MORATA LATEST

Alvaro Morata reportedly cut short his honeymoon in Ibiza to seal a move to United according to Spanish outlet AS. This comes in the face of the news that Real Madrid have hiked their asking price to around £79.5m. That’s very close to the money United received from Madrid for Ronaldo. United have been stunned by the decision and Morata is expected to discuss this with Perez once he returns. But United are prepared to pay the money. The possibility of an announcement in the next 48 hours is good.

NO BID NO MOVE

Along with Morata’s transfer, Perez and Madrid have made the transfer of James Rodriguez tough. Perez has told Rodriguez he will sell only if the right bid is made. United have reportedly made a £70m bid for the Colombian. It remains to be seen whether it will be enough for Perez to sell one of his star names. Rodriguez was told he was not guaranteed a move this summer.

JOHNSTONE NEWS

Manchester United and Middlesbrough are reportedly close to a £2.5m move for academy graduate Sam Johnstone. Johnstone spent last season on loan at Aston Villa and was even close to sign for the Villains. But it appears that Middlesbrough have stolen a march on Villa and Sunderland to complete the signing of the 23 year old shot stopper.

FABINHO DEAL ON

Manchester United will still try to sign Fabinho despite the transfer of Nemanja Matic. While Matic and Fabinho both have a similar playing position and style, United are hoping to sign both midfielders this summer. While the Matic move is close, there is still some work left to be done with respect to a move for Monaco’s Fabinho.

ANOTHER ACADEMY TARGET

Manchester United are aiming to sign Northern Ireland star Ethan Galbraith over this weekend. The talented sixteen year old is expected to sign for a deal lasting around three years. He is set to be the latest addition to Nicky Butt and United’s talent pool. Galbraith has had two trials with United and a pre-contract arrangement is said to be in place.
