No More Dabbing in the New Home Kit

HOME KIT LAUNCHED

Manchester United released the home kit ahead of the upcoming season. The kit features a classic button-up collar. The white and black sleeves combined with the red kit is a tribute to the matchday flags seen at Old Trafford and away visits. Wayne Rooney was heavily involved in the launch sparking reports that he may yet stay at Old Trafford as his contract enters its final year. Pogba, Lindelof, Shaw and Jones were all also involved in the kit launch.

MARC BARTRA TO UNITED?

Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen on bringing Borussia Dortmund defender Marc Bartra to United. United have reportedly made preliminary contact with Dortmund with regards to a transfer. While United signed Victor Lindelof, Mourinho will want significant cover at the back after struggling with injuries towards the end of the season. Though restricted by injuries, Bartra remains a solid defender and would be an impressive addition to Mourinho’s squad.

BLOCKED

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is prepared to block any move for Matteo Darmian should an offer come for the 27-year-old Italian this summer. Despite starting just 15 games in the Premier League in 2016-17, Mourinho is keen to hold onto the versatile defender who can play anywhere across the backline. He was instrumental in the Europa League Final victory. But Mourinho concedes that he may have no choice should a ‘good’ offer come. ‘

ROONEY LINKS

Manchester United captain is said to be close to sealing a transfer to boyhood club Everton this summer. Though initially it was expected that Rooney would stay for one final campaign, a breakthrough is believed to be close. Rooney has fallen down Jose’s pecking order and is no longer guaranteed to start. His wages and a transfer fee were proving to be a stumbling block but the issues are expected to be resolved soon. This news comes despite the fact that Wayne was actively involved in United’s kit launch, as mentioned above.

ANOTHER ACADEMY SIGNING

Manchester United have completed the signing of Charlton wunderkind Largi Ramazni. He arrived at United’s training base for pre-season testing and is another addition to Nicky Butt’s talent pool. A four-year deal is believed to have been inked. He will slot straight in with McKenna’s u-18s along with the likes of Angel Gomes and Ethan Galbraith. Ramazni joins Galbraith and Aliou Traore as the latest additions to United’s academy. The future is looking bright for Nicky Butt and his young guns.

NO MORE DAB

Paul Pogba revealed that he retired the Dab celebration earlier this year and introduced a new celebration known as the ‘Billy Dance”. United fans will be hoping a lot of the Dance in the new campaign.
