United to make moves for Rose, Perisic and Aurier while Spurs’ drop a surprise.

Despite getting three signings already United continue to be linked with quality players. This week’s saw United get close to signing Serge Aurier, Perisic talks reopened and THAT interview from Danny Rose.

DANNY ROSE

The Spurs’ left-back is one of the best in the country and he has often been linked with a move to United. But things blew up after Rose went on record to claim that he was underpaid at Spurs. Rose all but explicitly stated Spurs as unambitious. The bomb-drop interview came after a week of intense speculation linking United with Rose. Some even claimed that it was Mourinho who persuaded Rose to give the interview. Weather United make a bee-line for Rose in the coming days is to be seen. A fee similar to one received by Spurs for Walker is believed to be enough to persuade Tottenham to sell their star defender.

IVAN PERISIC

Manchester United and Inter Milan came back to the negotiaiting table with regards to a move for the fourth target on Jose’s list – Ivan Perisic. Reports emerged that United chief Ed Woodward spoke with Perisic’s agent and indicated that the club was willing to meet the Italian’s asking price of £48m. United already had two bids for Perisic rejected. The third bid is set to be a take-it-or-leave bid with United ready to abandon their pursuit of the Croat if the bid fails.

Things could get complicated should Barcelona enter negotiations with the Catalan club looking at Perisic as alternatives to Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho.

SERGE AURIER

Another player linked with a move to Old Trafford is Serge Aurier. He was set to make the move across the channel with PSG eager to offload the versatile right back. A deal with the clubs was in place and United even agreed to a 5 year deal with the player with the Aurier’s visa trouble the only thing that can derail the move. But yesterday a tweet by Thomas Muenier was eerily similar to the one Gerard Pique posted ahead of the Neymar transfer complicated things.

Here’s the tweet.

ANTHONY MARTIAL

Not for the first time this summer, Anthony Martial has been linked with a move away from United. After Inter Milan and Arsenal’s advances, it was the Spurs’ opportunity to test United’s resolve as they launched a bid for Martial late last night. The bid was soundly rejected by United but the fee in question is yet to be reported. It remains to be seen whether Spurs’ return with a second bid ahead of the transfer deadline.
