Zlatan nominated for another gong and United end transfer window

Manchester United will offer Zlatan Ibrahimovic a player-cum-coaching option in the new deal being negotiated by the player and the club. Mourinho is eager to get someone with Zlatan’s aura and winning habit into his coaching team to help infuse the same winning habit into his youthful side. Zlatan was even reportedly at the United training base earlier this week and is believed to have had a long chat with Mourinho.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR GONG

Manchester United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic is up for UEFA’s Player of the Year gong. He is the only player from the Premier League nominated for the prestigious prize. Ibrahimovic will battle the likes of Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos, Kylian Mbappe, Gianluigi Buffon, Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski. The winner will be announced during the group stage draw for this year’s edition of the Champions League. Ibrahimovic is also up for the Europa League Player of the Year award alongside Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba.

UNITED SET TO MISS OUT ON ROBERTO

Manchester United have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Sergi Roberto after Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde admitted that he considered the player as an important element of his squad. United were linked with Roberto and even had a bid rejected. But it now seems as if the player will stay in Spain for another season with the Catalans.

WAITING FOR WINTER

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is content with the squad at his disposal and is not going to urge the club to complete a fourth signing. Mourinho was previously looking for a fourth signing in the former of a wide man. Rashford and Martial’s performances at the weekend is believed to be the main reason for this climb-down.

MARTIAL NOT GOING ANYWHERE

For the third time this summer, a close member of Anthony Martial’s team has played down speculation linking the Frenchman away from Old Trafford. After being the subject of a bid from Spurs at the weekend, Martial’s cousin said that they player is not looking to leave the club and is instead looking to play himself into the Starting XI. Previously, Martial himself and Mourinho shot down speculation.

ROJO UPDATE

Marcus Rojo gave United fans an update on his injury though social media. Rojo pictured himself on the gym bike and later while undergoing EMS treatment for pain and aches in his injured knee. Despite this, Marcos is expected to be out for a while, with the possibility of him missing the rest of the year quite high.
