United players rated from the 2-2 Draw against Stoke City

Here’s how United players fared in the away draw against Stoke City-

De Gea- 7.5
Made a couple of fine saves from Shaqiri before pulling off a world class save from Jese Rodriguez’s shot from point blank range. Wasn’t at fault for any of the two goals.

Valencia- 5.5
Provided a decent attacking outlet as usual, but badly needs to work on his crossing and passing in the final third.

Bailly- 4.5
Unusually off-day for the Ivorian, who was to blame for both goals. Lost Choupo-Moting for the first goal and let Jese win the corner from which Stoke scored their second. Suspended for the UCL game against Basel so he will have time to look back at his mistakes.

Jones- 5
Poor day for him as well as he looked off pace and put in a weak performance. Won’t have many similarly bad games in the future.

Darmian- 5.5
Mixed performance for the Italian defender whose inclusion came as a surprise to many. Was on fault for Stoke’s first goal, but made up for it by starting the counter for Lukaku’s goal.

Herrera- 5
Poor performance for the Spaniard who started for the first time this season. Looked off the pace as many of his passes and through balls didn’t come off. Subbed off on the hour mark.

Matic- 5.5
With Herrera holding the midfield, Matic’s job was to assist in attack. Its an unfamiliar job for him and that is why he couldn’t do much in a quiet outing.

Pogba- 6
Was United’s best player in the first half but disappeared after the break. His passes were menacing for the Stoke defence but was culpable of shooting wide from United last chance of the day.

Mkhitaryan- 6
Has never played too well in a 4-3-3, but was still able to provide the pass for Lukaku’s goal which took his assist tally to 6 in just 4 games.

Rashford- 6.5
Was United’s only direct outlet in the first half, and played through pain after limping time and again. Was threatening on the left but couldn’t do anything of note. Subbed off in the second half.

Lukaku- 6
Scored another goal, but missed a sitter in the final minutes as he ballooned Martial’s superb pass. An average performance masked with a timely goal.

SUBSTITUTES

Mata- 5
Didn’t have any impact as Mourinho’s men searched for the winning goal. Was brought on at the right wing but struggled to creare any good chance.

Martial- 6.5
Provided a brilliant cross which was frustratingly skied by Lukaku. Didn’t make any major contribution apart from that.

Lingard- NA
Came on too late to make any sort of impact.

Subs Not Used– Romero, Smalling, Blind, Fellaini
