ZLATAN AND MINGS CHARGED
The FA charged Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Tyrone Mings with violent conduct on monday. Mings might get a larger ban than Zlatan after the FA claimed that a standard punishment would be clearly insufficient. Zlatan and Mings have until today to respond. A ban will see Zlatan miss United’s big clash with Chelsea.
£90M PROBLEM
Frank Lampard and Jamie Carragher criticised Paul Pogba on Monday Night Football with Lampard saying that Pogba is not yet the finished article and that he hasn’t quite been that game changing player for whom one splashes out £90m.
GRIEZMANN INTEREST COOLING
Manchester United are reportedly cooling their interest in Antoine Griezmann with a deal becoming complicated. Atletico Madrid will be reluctant to sell their star player in a season where they move stadium and there’s also a feeling that Griezmann might be holding out for a move to Real Madrid. These complications have led Mourinho to look seriously at other options with Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe and Bayern’s Robert Lewandowski being looked at as possible options although Mourinho still will be very interested in bringing Griezmann to the club.
HERRERA SET FOR NEW DEAL
Ander Herrera is set to be offered a contract extension by United boss Mourinho with the 27 year old’s current contract set to expire at the end of next season. Herrera will reportedly be given a one-year extension to his contract.
BATTLE FOR DANILO
Manchester United are set to battle it out with their arch rivals Liverpool for the signing of 25 years old Porto midfielder Danilo, according to reports in Portugal. Porto will demand a high fee for him but that wouldn’t put off United if they want him.
LINDELOF SAGA TAKES NEW TURN
Victor Lindelof looks to have signed a new contract with Benfica, according to club documents released by Benfica. United are still expected to move for him in the summer, although they might have to pay a much larger fee to get the Swedish center back.
