Johnstone and Pereira have been in loan action this week, how have they played?

Sam Johnstone – Aston Villa

The young keeper played twice during the week and had mixed fortunes. On Tuesday night he was in the Villa goal as they went down 1-0 in a hard fought game against promotion chasing Huddersfield Town. Johnstone only had two shots to deal with during the game, one of which was the goal. He could do little to prevent it however as it came from a low shot following a corner. At the weekend Villa were at home to Sheffield Wednesday and ran out 2-0 winners. Wednesday had started well and Johnstone was on hand to keep out a fine shot from Sam Winnall with the score at 0-0. The away side were then reduced to 10 men before half time and so were on the back foot for the remainder of the game.

Andreas Pereira – Granada

The midfielder played the full 90 minutes of the narrow defeat to Atletico Madrid. He had three of Granada’s 12 shots but none of which were on target. Pereira also made one key pass but it was not able to be converted. Both sides had chances during the fairly even contest but Atletico scored with six minutes to play.

Adnan Januzaj (Sunderland) did not play as his side’s match was postponed due to the FA Cup.
