The Loan Report: Johnstone and Pereira shine

Adnan Januzaj – Sunderland

Januzaj once again played the full game for the league’s bottom side, but as in the previous five games, they were unable to score a goal. The Belgian did have three shots at goal during the 1-0 away loss to Watford but only one was on target. He also made two key passes, the joint highest for his side. Sunderland will play away at Leicester City this evening looking for their first win in five.

Sam Johnstone – Aston Villa

Johnstone kept another clean sheet for Villa as he helped them beat Norwich 2-0 at home. The game was in the balance until 10 minutes from the end when the visitors were reduced to 10 men. It was only then that Villa were able to score their second and take the points. That result is the fourth time in their last five games that Villa have won 2-0, Johnstone keeping a clean sheet in each game. He will be looking to keep another in this evening’s game at home to QPR.

Andreas Pereira – Granada

Granada were beaten 4-1 at home to Barcelona at the weekend. The game was in the balance with eight minutes remaining as the away side led 2-1 but, a red card for Granada ended any hopes they might have had for a result. Pereira played well during his 90 minutes having two shots on target and making two key passes. Only the two players involved in Granada’s goal were rated higher than the young playmaker who has shown promise in all his games this season.
