Manchester United winger Jesse Lingard has signed a new four-year deal with the club worth £100k a week. The deal includes a basic salary worth £75k a week but it will rise to £100k a week should United qualify for the Champions League. Lingard has been with the club since he was 7 and is now a regular in the first team. The new deal keeps him at Old Trafford till 2021 and includes the option of another season with the side.

Andy Cole has undergone a kidney transplant. The operation was carried out as part of his treatment for Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis. A statement by Man United read: Manchester United ambassador Andrew Cole has undergone a kidney transplant operation at Manchester Royal Infirmary. During his recuperation, Andrew will be taking a break from his role as Manchester United Ambassador.

INQUIRY CONFIRMED

Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona have all inquired about signing Atletico Madrid star Antonio Griezmann according to his mentor Eric Olhats. Speaking to RMC, Olhats confirmed the same and also revealed that he has £100m release clause. “I heard that Manchester United have an agreement but we do not even know if they will play in the Champions League. Manchester United, they took information, like all the others. They came to know what is our state of mind, the mindset of the player, if there are possibilities.”

DERBY VENUE LATEST

Manchester United and Manchester City will contest the first derby outside England in Houston’s NRG Stadium, according to reports. The two sides have reportedly reached an agreement on playing in the 72k capacity stadia. The clash takes place on July 20. San Diego and Austin have been considered as possible host cities but Houston’s NRG Stadium is expected to be confirmed. The Stadium was also the venue for the memorable Super Bowl this year. United previously played there in 2010 and won 5-2 against the MLS All-Stars.

Manchester United reserves’ have travelled to Texas with a 17 man squad for the Dallas Cup. Tommy Marin is in charge of the Under-19 team with Matthew Olosunde, Regan Poole, Callum Gribbin and Tosin Kehinde are among those on the flight over the Atlantic.
