Had absolutely nothing to do, apart from a few goal kicks. Rarely would he get such quiet evenings against top teams in the future.
Valencia- 7
Had a good match. Was good going forward and made a couple of well-timed tackles as well. Helped marshal Hazard as well.
Bailly- 7.5
Already looks like a Vidic-esque addition. Strong tackling, brilliant in the air and calm and composed. Another deserved clean sheet for the defence.
Rojo- 7.5
Another match, another great performance by the Argentinian. Won another fierce battle with Costa, and completed some good passes going forwards.
Darmian- 7.5
Two solid games in a row for the Italy international. Kept Pedro quiet in the first half and then Willian in the second half. Might even resuscitate his United career if he keeps performing like this.
Herrera- 9
Brilliant performance from the Duracell bunny. Kept Hazard in his pocket, and also created a goal before scoring one himself. Probably his best match in a United shirt.
Pogba- 8
Dominated the midfield like a boss. Won the battle against his French compatriot Kante, and played with ease. Brilliant in defence, Brilliant in attack.
Fellaini- 8
Surprised every United fan with another solid performance. Made some important passes which initiated counter attacks, and was composed in the midfield.
Lingard- 7
Not a very good match, but a good one. Didn’t do much apart from tiring the Chelsea defence with his well-timed runs. Hauled off in the second half.
Young- 7
Good match from the defensive point of view, but needs to work on his shooting. Decent performance overall.
Rashford- 8
Awesome display from the young striker. Scored a deserved goal. Was energetic and made some beautiful chances with his deadly pace. Unlucky to have not scored more.
SUBSTITUTES
Carrick (for Lingard)- 7
Solid and composed in the midfield. Didn’t put a foot wrong and quietly did his job.
Ibrahimovic (for Rashford)- 6
Didn’t do much apart from completing a few passes. Came on for the final ten minutes and couldn’t make any impact in that little time.
Fosu-Mensah (for Young)- N/A
Stayed on the pitch for exactly 60 seconds. Time-wasting substitution by Mourinho apparently.
