Injuries Mounting Up And De Gea Wants Out

TIMOTHY BLOW

Manchester United have received a fresh injury blow as Timothy Fosu-Mensah was injured in the last action of the Manchester Derby. Mourinho revealed the same in his post-match presser, saying: “He is injured, he is really injured in the last action of the game, in the last tackle. He was on the floor and he is also an important injury.” Early reports suggested that Fosu-Mensah hurt his shoulder with a dislocation being widely mentioned. This leaves United with just 14 senior outfield players available for Swansea’s visit on Sunday.

UNITED’S KANE?

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho hinted that he envisioned a Manchester United attack led by teenager Marcus Rashford. Despite not getting on the score sheet, Rashford, Martial and Mkhitaryan caused problems for Manchester City’s defense in the first half. Despite not scoring, Mourinho reckons that this may be the start of something special at Old Trafford. Mourinho said: “In the first half I could feel we were always dangerous, not with big occasions, we had a couple. But with this movement that could be the start of something important.”

TRANSFER REQUEST

Manchester United No. 1 David de Gea has reportedly put in a transfer request to Jose Mourinho ahead of a potential move to Real Madrid. The Spaniard is said to be on the cusp of a move to the Bernabeu. De Gea is said to have personally spoken to Mourinho about this.

BIG GLOVES TO FILL

Gary Neville believes that United will have a ‘big problem’ should David de Gea leave Old Trafford for the Bernabeu. De Gea has established himself as one of the world’s best at Old Trafford and Neville believes that unless United sign Neuer, they will begin the new campaign with a weaker No.1. Speaking following Manchester United’s recent derby stalemate against rivals City, Neville said: ‘De Gea was fantastic [against City] in the bits of work he had to do. He was calm, composed, and authoritative. If United were to lose De Gea, it would be a big problem. It would not be easy to replace him. He’s right at the top level now. You’re talking about Courtois, Neuer, that level of goalkeeper, that’s where he is now. I think he is better than Lloris,’ said Neville.

NEYMAR LINKED AGAIN

Manchester United have yet again been linked with a move for Barcelona’s Neymar. It has now been revealed that Neymar has told close friends that he expects Manchester United to activate his release clause. United are reportedly ready to spend big to sign the Brazilian and are prepared to buy-out his Camp Nou contract.
