Superb performance from the stand-in goalkeeper. Made a couple of brilliant saves to keep his side in the tie, and there was nothing much he could do for Celta’s goal.
Valencia- 6
Was solid in defending but did not offer too much going forwards.
Bailly- 6
Was a rock at the back for most of the match, but a moment of madness resulting in a red card means that he’ll miss the Final on May 24.
Blind- 4.5
Poor performance from the Dutchman. Couldn’t deal with the cross that lead to Celta’s goal, and was often seen restricted due to his booking in the opening minutes.
Darmian- 5
Was out of position twice in the first few minutes, gifting the opposition good chances. Grew better as the match went on, and dealt well with Aspas.
Herrera- 7
Assured performance from the Spaniard. Was at his usual best in creating chances, making vital interceptions and breaking up the opposition midfield.
Pogba- 7
Was surprisingly a dominant influence in the midfield, and made a couple of good chances for his team. His skills were also on display here.
Fellaini- 7
Solid performance from the Belgian who proved supporters wrong by getting a vital goal. Exquisite header from an exquisite cross.
Lingard- 6
Was full of energy and zest and created havoc with his running behind defences. Just lacked the final touch and was subbed off after the brawl.
Mkhitaryan- 7
His sudden bursts of lightning fast and skilful dribbling were a menace for the Celta players. Had a couple of shots on target, but was unlucky to have not scored a goal.
Rashford- 8
Another Man of the Match performance from the young forward, whose sublime cross for Fellaini’s header won the tie for his team. His pace and awareness created many problems for the Celta defence, and he could’ve scored but for the saves by Alvarez.
SUBSTITUTES-
Carrick (for Mkhitaryan)- 6
Solid by ineffective cameo, came on a bit late and thus couldn’t exert much influence.
Rooney (for Lingard)- 5
Came on during the brawl, and couldn’t do much in the ten minutes he spent on the pitch.
Smalling (for Rashford)- N/A
Came on for a few minutes as Mourinho shut down shop, following Bailly’s dismissal.
