United make Bakayoko enquiry & Blind wants to stay

ENQUIRY MADE

Manchester United are among the clubs that have made an enquiry about Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko. Liverpool are also rumoured to have spoken to the French Champions about bringing the £30m rated player to Anfield. All season long, Chelsea were favourite for the 22-year-old but now United and Liverpool have entered the fray for the talented midfielder. French giants PSG have also spoken to Monaco about Bakayoko.

BLIND WANTS TO STAY

Daley Blind has revealed his desire to stay at Old Trafford despite no murmurings about a new deal for the utility player. Blind has only one more year left on his contract. Signed initially as defensive midfielder, Blind has found himself starting as centre-back and left-back. Blind said: “I don’t really know anything yet about my future. I haven’t really thought about it either. But which player wouldn’t want to stay at Manchester United?”

MATIC MOVE

Manchester United are looking to make a stunning £35m bid for Premier League champion Nemanja Matic. A move is however dependent on Chelsea letting one of their star player go. Matic has two years left on his term and it was Mourinho who brought the big midfielder back at Stamford Bridge. Mourinho sees Matic as a potential replacement for the ageing Carrick.

MKHITARYAN’S PROMISE

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is desperate to win the Europa League and avoid playing in the Europa League for a third successive season. Mkhitaryan said: “We want to win and have to win, for us it is very important to win this trophy, and also the opportunity to play in the Champions League because Manchester United are not the team who has to play three years in a row in the Europa League. It’s going to be one of the most important games in my life. I don’t want to lose this opportunity. I am only thinking of winning that game, I know we are able to win, and I know it will be a big pleasure to win it.”

RODRIGUEZ HINT

James Rodriguez has changed his Instagram profile to a photo of him wearing the Colombian colours, a departure from the Real Madrid one he was sporting until recently. Players’ social media activity before a transfer usually involves a few minor tweaks that might suggest that the player is on the move. Pogba did something similar before his return to Old Trafford.

PEREIRA TO RETURN

Andreas Pereira is expected to return to Old Trafford and battle it out for first-team opportunities next season after an impressive loan spell at Granada. Despite tasting relegation, Pereira was one of the better players of the squad and clearly enjoyed his time in Spanish. Mourinho has been pleased with Pereira’s development especially when compared to Januzaj’s over the course of the season. He scored 5 goals in 35 appearances and feels prepared to challenge for a first-team role at Old Trafford.
