EXIT CONFIRMED
Zlatan Ibrahimovic all but confirmed that he was leaving Manchester United in an Instagram post yesterday.
The 28 goal striker suffered a season ending knee injury in April and was the only player on United’s released list. He will however continue rehabilitation with United as the dynamic Swede aims to return to the pitch before the scheduled New Year return. His recovery is reportedly happening quicker than expected.
TELLING THE FRIENDS
Manchester United target Alvaro Morata has reportedly told his friends that he will move to Manchester this summer after reaching an agreement with Real Madrid. Morata held talks with Florentino Perez personally after cutting short his honeymoon and the club and the player is believed to have agreed to finalise the transfer soon. Morata’s representatives have made it clear that the player wants a move. United are willing to pay as much as £63m and are reluctant to meet Real’s asking price of £79.5m. Mourinho is hoping that the transfer is concluded before July 9th, the day United fly to the States for their Tour 2017.
BARCELONA LEGENDS 1-3 MANCHESER UNITED LEGENDS
Manchester United legends rode on the back of goals from Karel Porbosky, Jesper Blomqvist and Dwight Yorke to beat Barcelona Legends 3-1 at the Camp Nou. The United lineup consisted of players like Ji-Sung Park, Louis Saha among others who faced a Barcelona lineup consisting of players of the likes of Ronaldinho, Rivaldo and Patrick Kluivert. Ronaldinho was adjudged as the man of the match after running the Barcelona attack who scored the consolatory goal in the 90th minute through Fredric Dehu.
MOURINHO FURIOUS
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has expressed his displeasure at Ed Woodward’s lack of transfer activity ahead of the deadline Mourinho gave the latter. United have made a solitary signing of Victor Lindelof and are still negotiating with regards to Alvaro Morata and Fabinho. Mourinho is also unhappy about missing out on Ivan Perisic. The move for Matic has stalled with Chelsea’s lack of announcement of Tiemoune Bakayoko from Monaco.
A WANTED MAN
It’s not just Championship sides chasing United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone as it emerged that as many as four Premier League clubs are in the race for the 24 year old Englishman. Crystal palace have also enquired about the 6ft 3inch shotstopper after he impressed in 24 outings in with Championship side Aston Villa last season. West Brom, Huddersfield and Leicester are all said to be monitoring the academy graduate. Relegated pair Sunderland and Mddlesbrough are also interested.
