Transfer Links Galore As The Academy Continues Its Signing Spree

MORE MORATA

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho wants Alvaro Morata’s transfer to be sealed by Thursday this week. United chiefs are hoping to announce the mega signing on Thursday after ‘productive’ negotiations with Real Madrid. Alvaro Morata’s agent also held a long meeting with Madrid officials and the players intent to leave was explicitly mentioned, unlike the last meeting. Real reportedly lowered their valuation of a player who is not first choice. A deal will hopefully be enough to placate a livid Jose, upset at his side’s lack of transfer activity.

The meeting lasted close to 50 minutes according to AS. The outlet also suggested that United upped their offer to £70m.

HANDS OFF FEDERICO

Fiorentina issued a hands-off message to Manchester United and Chelsea with regards to the potential transfer of Federico Bernardeschi. Bernardeschi was touted as a potential alternative to Inter’s Ivan Perisic. United also reportedly spoke to the Florence club with regards to a move but were brick-walled. Fiorentina director of football in comments to Italian TV said: “Bernardeschi is unsellable for us. He came through the ranks and is one of us so, as far as we’re concerned, he’s going nowhere.” It looks like another blow in the transfer window for United.

MORE ACADEMY SIGNINGS

While United have just Victor Lindelof for the first-team, the academy has been very active over past week or so. Nicky Butt’s side completed the signing of Chelsea youngster Bernard Di’Shon last night. He signed a deal along with Aliou Traore. The latter’s deal was a mere formality. But Di’Shon, 16-years-old, is another brilliant and surprise addition to the u-18s. Di’Shon revealed broke the news on Twitter saying: “My new chapter begins”. United have already snapped up Ethan Galbraith, Aliou Traore, Largie Ramazani and now Di’Shon.

NOT GOING ANYWHERE

Manchester United reserve keeper Kieran O’Hara confirmed that he was staying at Old Trafford after signing an extension. He was part of the group of United reserves’ who reported back to training at Carrington on Tuesday. O’Hara confirmed the news on Twitter saying: “A summer to remember but now time to get back to what matters, can’t wait to push on and really looking forward to the new season #MUFC.”

MORE ON MATIC

As in the case of Morata, Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho wants his side to complete the signing of Nemanja Matic by Sunday. Matic is right at the top of the list of targets Mourinho gave to Woodward and signing a key player from the Champions is a loud statement. The move has been delayed because of Chelsea’s move for Tiemoune Bakayoko falling through.
