Lukaku Agreement Reached & Perisic Likes It

LUKAKU AGREEMENT REACHED

Manchester United and Everton have reached an agreement for the transfer of Romelu Lukaku. The fee believed to be in the region of £75m with £15m in add-ons could end up eclipsing the £89m United paid for the services of Paul Pogba last summer. While personal terms are yet to be agreed and medical still to be done, it is considered a mere formality. Lukaku will link up with his new teammates in Los Angeles where he is currently on vacation. A statement on United’s website read: “Manchester United is delighted to announce that it has agreed a fee with Everton for the transfer of Romelu Lukaku. The transfer is subject to a medical and personal terms. A further announcement will be made in due course.”

NEW u-23 COACH

Ricky Sgragia was named as the new u-23 coach last night. He rejoins United after previously being in charge of the reserves under Sir Alex about 12 years ago. Sgragia expressed his delight at returning to United. He said: “I couldn’t be happier to be back at Manchester United. It’s an exciting time for the club, with a new structure for the Academy and a relatively new set of coaches and management team. I am really excited by the challenge of this role, the club has always been at the forefront when it comes to Academy football and I am delighted that the club continues to strive to be the best with its forward-thinking ideas for the future of youth football.”

POOLE LEAVES ON LOAN

Manchester United’s Regan Poole has joined Northampton Town on a season-long loan. Poole will reunite with former coach Justin Edinburgh. Edinburgh was the man who handed Poole his debut at Newport aged 16. The 19-year-old said: “When I was at Newport I knew we would reunite again because we got on so well and to be honest he got me to where I am today. He played a big part in my career so far and I’m back here so he can do it again.” Poole made his debut for United against Midtjylland in the Europa League under Louis van Gaal and became a regular for the reserves last campaign.

PERISIC ‘LIKES’ LUKAKU MOVE

Ivan Perisic liked Paul Pogba’s and Lukaku’s post welcoming the Belgian to Old Trafford sparking fresh Perisic to United rumour links. While Inter and Untied refuse to come to a compromise on the transfer fee, Perisic is eager to make the move. United have already looked at potential signings to replace Perisic. Federico Bernardeschi is one of the players being looked at. Inter are holding out for £50m while United are reluctant to offer anything more than £40m.
