Lukaku Unveiled Amid Transfer Rumblings

Manchester United unveiled Romelu Lukaku as their latest signing in Hollywood fashion. The player quickly started preparations for the new season in United’s first training session. Hilariously, his first interview as a United player was conducted by Paul Pogba.

KIT NUMBER CONFIRMED

Romelu Lukaku confirmed that he will don the No.9 kit at United. Having worn the No.10 jersey at Everton, Lukaku confirmed that the same in his interview with MUTV. Lukaku admitted that he asked the permission of the previous owner of the jersey. Lukaku said: “That’s why I played with No. 10. I asked for the number nine because I’m a striker. Strikers play with No. 9. It’s a nice number, and I asked the permission of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. I want to thank him, as well, for allowing me to wear that number.”

GOALKEEPER ROTATION REVEALED

Jose Mourinho revealed that his three keepers will rotate at 45-minute intervals over the course of the US Tour. Mourinho said: “The first match [against LA Galaxy], Romero does not play. We play David for 45 and the kid for 45. In the second match [versus Real Salt Lake], David does not play. We play the kid for 45 and Romero for 45. The third match against Man City, we don’t play Joel. We will play David for 45 and Romero for 45.”

HENDERSON LEAVES ON LOAN

The loan move of Dean Henderson to Shrewsbury Town was confirmed by the club. Henderson who was part of England’s victorious u-20 World Cup squad will spend the entirety of the 2017-18 season at the League One side. Henderson said: “I’m delighted to come here. I could have gone to a lot of League Two clubs this year, but I had to show that development and go into the next league. I will be working hard every day in training and hopefully perform well in the games before the season starts. I’ve left no stones unturned, so I’m ready.”

MONACO DEAL IN PLACE

United reportedly have an agreement in place with Monaco with regards to the transfer of Tiemoue Bakayoko. United have promised to pay more than Chelsea in another attempt to lay waste to Chelsea’s transfer plans. United and Chelsea are set to go head-to-head in a bidding war Bakayoko. United are also interested in Fabinho.

PERISIC DEAL EXPECTED

Manchester United expect Ivan Perisic to complete his transfer to Old Trafford this week. Perisic and United have an ‘agreement’ in place and a fee upwards of £45m will be enough to convince Inter to part with their star Croat. Perisic has been teasing fans on social media over the past week, sparking rumors of a switch to Old Trafford.
