Matteo Staying & Agent Pogba At Work Again?

GOING NOWHERE

Matteo Darmian revealed that he intends to stay at Manchester United for the coming season despite interest from Juventus and Inter Milan in his native Italy. Darmian reportedly put in a transfer request earlier this summer but has made a U-turn and is focused on achieving the targets for the new season. Darmian said: “I am happy here. I think also it is a part of our work, these kind of rumours. Like I said before, I am happy here so no news. I am a Manchester United player – that’s it. Manchester United is probably the biggest club in the world. Of course it means a lot for me to be here and pushes me to every time do my best.”

ROMAN SEAL OF APPROVAL

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich reportedly sanctioned the transfer of Nemanja Matic to Old Trafford but only for a fee of £50m. Chelsea were reluctant to sell to a team considered one of the challengers for their Premier League title. But Abramovich gave his approval for Matic to join United as a gesture of goodwill for his services in helping the club win the Premier League twice in three seasons. United are expected to launch a second bid for Matic in the coming days and the player could a Red before the end of the month.

LEGENDS ARE BACK

Manchester United yesterday confirmed that United legends Ruud van Nistelrooy, Wes Brown and Ji-Sung Park will come back to United to face Barcelona in a legends match at Old Trafford on September 2nd.  Van Nistelrooy expressed his happiness at the chance to play in front of the Old Trafford faithful once again. He said: “It will be great to be back at Old Trafford. I was lucky enough to represent United for five years and the support I received from the fans is something I’ll never forget. In that sense, it will be good to go back, show them my gratitude and enjoy the game.” The trio join the likes of Scholes, Denis Irwin and Dwight Yorke in United’s squad.

“SIGN HIM UP”

Manchester United have been linked with a move for PSG’s Serge Aurier in recent days after the Paris club confirmed that he will leave in the summer. Paul Pogba reportedly urged Mourinho to snap up the right-back. Pogba is a close friend of Aurier and would love to line up alongside him at Old Trafford. Aurier remains a secondary target for United as of now as a defensive midfield tops Mourinho’s wishlist.

ALL HAIL ROMELU

Manchester United’s marquee signing Romelu Lukaku has drawn praise from all quarters after his record breaking move from Everton. After City Captain Vincent Kompany labelled him as one of the world’s best, another City star Kevin De Bruyne sang Lukaku’s praises. De Bruyne said: “I think he will do very well. Everyone knows what his qualities are and he will do what he has to do. There’s a lot said about these big transfers, people mock him and other players on social media. You know it’s there but you just can’t care about that. You just have to do your job and I think he’ll score 20 to 25 goals for United a season and that will speak for itself.”
