SPALLETTI STAYS DEFIANT
Inter boss Luciano Spalletti remains defiant that his star winger Ivan Perisic will reject advances from United or any other club and remain at the San Siro for at least another season. Spalletti revealed that Perisic was interested in moving before but now is determined at staying with Inter. Spalletti said: ““Perisic is determined to stay. There was a moment (when he considered moving), but then he spoke like a footballer who is interested in doing the right thing for his professionalism and he drew a conclusion.”
UNITED TO TRIGGER CLAUSE?
Manchester United are ready to trigger Barcelona’s Sergi Roberto’s release clause after having an earlier bid stone-walled by the Catalan club. The midfielder himself is looking to move after falling behind because of Paulinho’s arrival. United previously had a bid of around £35m. Roberto’s clause is reportedly around £36.5m. Chelsea are another club looking at signing the versatile midfielder.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan revealed that United were ready to launch a serious charge at the Premier League title. After providing two assists in United’s thumping 4-0 win over West Ham, a marker has been laid and players and Jose are optimistic about the coming season. Mkhitaryan said: ““We made a good start to the season. Now we have to keep going. I think the last few years was a little bit down for the club but, since last year and this year, I hope it’s going to be up for the club. We’ll do our best to bring the club to the level it was at before. It’s always hard, but we’ll try to do our best.” Henrikh also expressed surprise at Chelsea’s decision to let Matic join United.
INVINCIBLE-ESQUE
United received praise from surprise quarters after their first match of the season with one of the greatest Premier League players Thierry Henry going all out of his way to praise United. Henry who was famously part of the Arsenal Invincibles’ squad revealed that he sees a lot of similarities between that side and the one at United. Henry said: “Do I see the Invincibles in this Man Utd team? Oh yeah. When I see them especially on Sunday I saw that. I saw power, pace, guys with ideas and legs. They can cover the ground really quickly, that’s very important. We had that at Arsenal.”
FABINHO WANTS TO LEAVE
Manchester United target Fabinho revealed that he is potentially looking for an exit out of Monaco ahead of the end of the summer transfer window. Fabinho who referred to his current club as former team said: “I hope we will continue this way and that Monaco will still be okay.’ Fabinho was heavily linked with a United move and recently stormed out of a training session sparking further speculation. It remains to be seen whether United will move for the versatile Brazilian.
