Antoine’s regret, another hijack in the making while Mkhi is spreading the magic

HAPPY FOOTBALL

Jose Mourinho said that his United side were playing happy football, helping them be comfortable on the field. United later on the field did play football that saw the fans who made the trip to Wales go back home happy. Goals from Eric Bailly, Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial helped United get another 4-0 victory.

ANTOINE’S REGRET

Manchester United’s main summer target Antoine Griezmann who’s proposed move to Old Trafford failed because of a transfer ban on Atletico Madrid hinted he regretted deciding against a move to United. Griezmann tweeted the following tweet a while after United’s victory.

Though it could mean virtually anything, many have claimed that he is expressing regret at deciding against a move to United.

JOSE REMAINING HUMBLE

Manchester United romped home to another 4-0 victory in the Premier League courtesy of a 3 minute blitz that saw the team score 3 goals. But despite this result and the one last week, Mourinho was wary of side’s title chances and said that it won’t smooth sailing all the way though. Mourinho said: “‘I’m happy, of course, and the quality of the performance gives me even more confidence. The thing that I want to see – well, I don’t want to see it – but if it happens, I want to see the team losing and see the way we emotionally react to it. Because it is also another stage: be losing and try to change the result. Because at this moment everything is going in our favour, but it’s not always a motorway. You always find difficult roads and road works and we have to be ready.”

NEW DEAL COULD BE INKED THIS MONTH

Manchester United and Zlatan Ibrahimovic could ink the new deal as early as this month. The Daily Mail said that the two sides were in advanced negotiations over the proposed new contract. United are believed to have offer terms are significantly less than what Ibrahimovic earned in his first season at the club. Ibrahimovic is currently on vacation and talks are being handled through Mino Raiola.

MATURE POGBA

Manchester United saw a vastly mature Pogba after what many considered a ‘red card offence.’ Pogba booked for felling Tom Carroll could have got his marching orders as early as the half-hour mark after another offence shortly after. Some pundits also said that Mourinho could take him off as a precautionary measure. But Jose did make a move and Pogba stayed on the pitch to score one and assist two goals while having another significant hand in the fourth. He put in a spectacular display of midfield dominance that would have left his harshest critics silenced.

IN FOR DRAXLER?

Manchester United may rival Arsenal and Liverpool for the signature of Julian Draxler who is surplus to requirements at PSG just a year after his move to the French Capital. Draxler could reportedly be on the move for a fee as little as £32m. Draxler who is a very influential attacking player was previously linked to United but a move never materialised mostly due to the asking price. But with the fee now in question regarded as cut-price United may make one last raid before the transfer window closes.

STAT MAN: MKHI SPREADING THE MAGIC

Manchester United’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan filled up the stat box during another impressive victory over Swansea in the Premier League.

Pass Accuracy: 90%
Chances Created: 12
Assists: 4

Mkhitaryan already has 400% more assists this season than he had in the whole of last season and is just three shy of Coutinho’s mark through the whole of the previous season.
