DUO RETURN
Luke Shaw and Ashley Young completed their comeback by playing an hour of the u-23 clash between United and Swansea. It is a major boost for Mourinho as it provides depth at left-back where UNited have played both Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian. Young who is in his final year of the contract will add depth in a number of positions on both flanks. United drew 1-1 against the Swans as Indy Boonen scored for the Reds. Both Shaw and Young have returned ahead of schedule but their involvement in the game against Leicester at the weekend is as of yet unsure.
IBRAHIMOVIC 10
Adidas may have accidentally revealed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is resigning with United. The United kit maker started selling replicas of the United kit and provide the option of getting Ibrahimovic’s name on the back. The jersey number along with the name is 10 indicating that the Swede could pick up the number vacated by Rooney. United are expected to resign Ibrahimovic in the coming days to ensure that the club can name him in the Champions League squad.
BEST IN THE WORLD
Anthony Martial was full of praise for his teammate Paul Pogba in recent comments made to United’s website. Martial called Pogba the best midfielder in world football and tipped him to win the Ballon D’or in the coming years. Martial said: “I would say he is probably the best midfield player in the world. He is still young, too, so he has a lot to work on and he can get even better. We want to win a lot of trophies together at United, and we also want to win the World Cup with France. If he continues to play and improve like he is doing then I think he is also going to win the Ballon d’Or award in the next five years.”
SCOUTING MISSION
Eagle-eyed fans spotted Jose Mourinho at Manchester City’s clash versus Everton last night. Mourinho was in attendance along with Sir Alex Ferguson as the Blues dropped two points after a 1-1 draw. Wayne Rooney got the goal for the Evertonians and later could not resist a dig at the Citizens. It is believed that Mourinho was looking at Everton’s side ahead a clash in the Premier League next month.
KEEPING AN EYE OUT
Manchester United are keeping an eye on developments in the Ryan Sessegnon saga at Fulham. The teenager who lit up the Championship as a 16-year-old last season is a hot property with Liverpool, Tottenham, and United all interested. It was also reported that Spurs had a bid of 25m pounds rejected by Fulham. Though he is set to stay at the Cottage for at least another season, United will be ready to swoop in for the wonderkid ahead of thier rivals.
