Fellaini and Matic Shine and other United Players rated from the 4-0 win over Everton

Here’s how the Manchester United players fared in the 4-0 demolition of Everton in the Premier League-

De Gea- 7.5
Made a couple of brilliant saves as he clinched his 100th clean sheet for Manchester United. Thwarted Rooney on two occasions and made fine saves first from Tom Davies and then from Sandro Ramirez.

Valencia- 7
His stunning half-volley gave United the lead and a psychological upper-hand for most of the match before they ran riot in the final 10 minutes. Was flawless both in attack as well as in defence.

Bailly- 7
Made two crucial blocks either side of half-time to keep his team in the lead. Dealt well with both Davies and Sigurdsson.

Jones- 7
Wasn’t as sturdy as usual but did well to thwart Rooney time and again. Defended very well against late substitute Ramirez as well.

Young- 7
Has shown that he’s still an incredible player despite being a forgotten star for most of the past few months. Was superb at right-back against Basel in the midweek and was splendid again tonight. Provided an effective attacking outlet on the left and can become a regular starter on either of the two flanks.

Matic- 7.5
Another impeccable outing for the midfield powerhouse, who played more deep than usual in Pogba’s absence. Robust defending at times, and his interceptions and tackles were almost all perfectly timed.

Fellaini- 7.5
Another emphatic performance from the Belgian midfielder, who was quietly effective. Began the move for United’s second goal with a timely interception.

Mata- 7
Worker really hard and was always available for a pass. Was the assister for Valencia’s screamer. The real action began after he was subbed off as United ran riot in the final ten minutes.

Rashford- 6
Decent performance from the young attacker, who couldn’t really create any good chances. Shot well wide when he should’ve crossed just before half-time. Subbed off for Lingard.

Mkhitaryan- 7.5
Was United’s most lively player in the first half. Was the link from the defence to attack during counter attacks, and even if his runs rarely came off, he was a menacing presence for the Everton defence. Scored his first goal of the season as well.

Lukaku- 7.5
Was poor for most of the match but salvaged that with a late goal and an assist against his former side. Missed a great opportunity in the first half.

SUBSTITUTES

Lingard- 6.5
Replaced Rashford after the hour mark. Provided a headed assist for Lukaku’s goal.

Herrera- 7
Gave stability to United midfield and sat back and allowed his teammates to join the attackers in counter-attacks. The result- three goals in the space of ten minutes.

Martial- 7
Was on the field for less than ten minutes, but did win and tuck away a penalty in the little time.

Subs Not Used- Romero, Darmian, Smalling, Carrick.
