Manchester United’s fans warned before their trip to Russia

Manchester United without Marouane Fellaini in Moscow clash

Manchester United return to Champions League action on Wednesday night but they will be without Marouane Fellaini. The combative midfielder is suffering an ankle injury that he picked up in the 1-0 win over Southampton which will see him miss United’s clash with CSKA Moscow.

Young shows his worth at left-back

Ashley Young has been with United for some years now and, in recent times, he has struggled to nail a regular starting place. However, with Jose Mourinho’s side without a left-back that is consistently chosen, the former winger has found a place in the starting XI again. Indeed, former left-back Patrice Evra has nothing but praise for his old teammate, telling ESPN: “He’s a very good player, especially when he’s one-on-one. He gets the ball, stops the ball and crosses the ball. He’s very good at creating or finding the space to do that. He’s also good at delivering the ball accurately”.

English fans need to behave themselves in Russia

Russian Football Union Cheif Vladimir Markin told the Tass State news agency that: “I don’t want to scare anyone but I warn those who plan to come here not to support their side and see the country but to commit hooliganism: The law is the same for all, not just for Russians”. Markin made the claim with both Liverpool and United playing games in Russia this week.

Ian Wright picks Romelu Lukaku, but gives confusing reason for doing so

The Premier League is being filled with more and more of the world’s best striking talent as the years go by which has culminated in the top six in particular entering into a battle over who has the best striker. Former Arsenal star Ian Wright has claimed he would pick Romelu Lukaku, but his reasons for doing so are confusing. He wrote in The Sun: “Yet if I had to take just one of the pair it would be Lukaku — simply because he has such a massive improvement still to come”. While it is likely the Belgian will only continue to improve, he is the same age as Chelsea star Alvaro Morata, meaning Wright’s claim that his age will allow him to make a massive improvement also applies to Morata.

Jose Mourinho will not face further action after sending off at Southampton

Manager Jose Mourinho was sent to the stands against Southampton for stepping out of his technical area and was facing further charges by the FA following the red card. However, English football’s governing body have decided that there will be no further charges for the Portuguese boss.
