Tour plans revealed and some BIG contract news!

TOUR 2018 FINALISED

As reported a few days prior, Manchester United confirmed that they will embark on a United States Tour for the second consecutive summer. United will play Club America and San Jose Earthquakes during their stay across the pond. The club are also expected to play Liverpool this summer but the announcement didn’t deliver any news on this front. United travelled to the states last summer and played Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid. United will play Club America at the Phoenix University Stadium in Arizona on July 19th and then the Earthquakes three days later at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Carla. Jose Mourinho is believed to have insisted on another trip to the States rather than a tiring journey to the East.

CONTRACT NEWS

David De Gea is expected to cross the ‘t’s and dot the ‘i’s on a new contract at Old Trafford soon. The shot-stopper is expected to ink a 350k a week deal in the soon. De Gea is currently contracted at United until 2019 and tying him down is said to be a priority for Ed Woodward ahead of what is expected to a busy summer for United. De Gea recently spoke of his happiness in England and fans can breathe easy after continuous speculation last summer about a potential move to the current holders of the Champions League – Real Madrid. The deal is expected to be in place ahead of the World Cup in June.

FULL OF PRAISE FOR LUKAKU

Juan Mata in his weekly blog (One Hour Behind) praised United’s leading goalscorer this season Romelu Lukaku. The Spaniard congratulated Lukaku on becoming a Premier League centurion this weekend. He wrote,” I’m especially happy for Romelu, because his work for the team doesn’t reflect only through his goals. He is a great guy and he deserves it. Mata also said that United would try their best to delay City’s title party this weekend. City can, of course, seal a third Premier League crown with a victory in the Derby.

PEREIRA RETURNS FROM INJURY

Manchester United loanee Andreas Pereira returned from a two-month injury layoff against Leganes for Valencia. Pereira who missed nine games because of a hard tackle from Barcelona’s Sergi Roberto. Pereira who came on for the last ten minutes in the 1-0 victory for Valencia. Pereira is expected to return to United this summer and could finally break through next campaign.
