Updates from Mourinho presser and transfer news

WATFORD STAR LINED UP

Manchester United are keeping tabs on Watford’s Brazilian forward Richarlinson and view him as a potential replacement for Anthony Martial, should the Frenchman leave United in the summer. Richarlinson has had a successful campaign so far after joining Watford in the summer. A 40m deal has been mooted and United will have to outbid Chelsea if they want their man.

JUVENTUS TURN DOWN MAROUANE

Juventus have turned down the opportunity to sign Marouane Fellaini according to Calciomercato. Juventus were offered Fellaini whose contract runs out at the end of the summer, but the Turin side have decided against signing the Belgian. Fellaini is set to leave United at the end of the season after rejecting a three-year contract offered to him earlier in the season. The 30-year-old has also been linked with PSG and Monaco in the past few weeks.

BARCELONA’S UMTITI REALISATION

Barcelona are reportedly frustrated in their attempts to tie down Samuel Umtiti to a new contract. The Spanish side are upset at the fact that Umtiti decided to speak out about his future in France and the player openly admitting interest from other clubs. The same report now says that Barcelona will not meet with Umtiti’s wage demands and will not match offers above their valuation of their player. United have been linked with Umtiti for sometime and the player confirmed the club’s interest in him. Umtiti also has a 60m release clause.

VALENCIA OPEN TALK WITH PEREIRA

Valencia have reportedly opened in official talks with Andreas Pereira’s agent as they look to make the loan move permanent in the summer. Pereira has impressed at the Mestalla this season as Valencia close in on a return to the Champions League ahead of next season. Mourinho is not keen on moving the 22-year-old this summer and the player himself does not mind a return to Old Trafford should he have ample game time. Pereira’s contract runs out at the end of next season.

CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH

Mourinho again has a near fully-fit squad to select his players from. Like last week, only Sergio Romero misses out with an injury against West Brom on Sunday at Old Trafford. Mourinho will be pleased with this development as he hopes to have a full-strength squad as compared to last season when United were struggling with injuries.

NO MORE ATTACKERS

Mourinho categorically refuted claims that United were looking at increasing competition for Romelu Lukaku up front and said that his focus won’t be on attacking recruitments. Mourinho also said that Martial and Rashford are going nowhere and assured that the pair are in his plans. But the boss also warned that the pair will have to pull their socks up for a starting berth given the competition in the squad and the revitalization of Alexis Sanchez in recent weeks.
