Dermot Mee – Goalkeeper Man United

Born in Birmingham on the 20th of November 2002, but playing for Northern Ireland on the international stage, Dermot Mee joined the Walsall youth side as a youngster. He left the Midlands club in order to sign for Manchester United in 2019, becoming part of a youth setup that also had other talented goalkeepers in the form of Radek Vítek and Hubert Graczyk.

One of United’s main aims was to try to get more experience for the young goalkeeper, so a deal was signed to send him on loan to Fulham. He made his debut in the club’s Under-18s squad on the 16th of January 2021.

Dermot Mee sounds like a goalkeeper so for that reason I’m in.

Also because Onana is a liability.

That game ended in a 4-1 loss to Crystal Palace, making a further four appearances for the Under-18s before his loan spell ended and he returned to the Red Devils.

That was on the 22nd of February 2021, with Mee also enjoying loan spells at the likes of Trafford, Runcorn Linnets, Witton Albion and Altrincham. As Man United were gearing up to face Leicester City in the Premier League in the middle of March 2025, rumours began to swirl amongst the fanbase that Mee was due to start ahead of André Onana in the game, only for him to be on the bench come kick-off.
