Elyh Harrison – Goalkeeper Man United

If it seems as though Manchester United have a wealth of decent goalkeepers on their books, that’s because they do. Elyh Samuel Harrison was born in Redbridge on the 19th of February 2006. When he was a youngster, he was added to the books of West Ham United’s Academy, remaining there until the opportunity presented itself for him to move to Stevenage, which he chose to do.

In 2022, however, Manchester United came calling. He moved to the Academy of the Red Devils, whereupon he became part of the Under-18s side that won the Premier League Cup in 2024.

At the start of the 2024-2025 season, Harrison was sent on loan to Chester. Whilst there, he made numerous first-team appearances and gained invaluable experience. The fact that he is English has allowed Harrison to progress through the ranks in the England setup too. He played in the Three Lions’ Under-18s side in 2023, progressing into the Under-19s and then the Under-20s.

In 2024, the Manchester Evening News wrote about Harrison that he is ‘one of the most promising homegrown goalkeepers of his generation’, with the Three Lions stopping him from playing for South Africa, which he could’ve done thanks to his parents.
