It isn’t particularly common for a player to have both Liverpool and Manchester United on their CVs, but that is exactly what Ethan Ennis has. He was born in Runcorn on the 11th of December 2004 and was signed up to the Merseyside club’s youth system as a youngster. Having made his way through the ranks at the club, Ennis was offered a contract in 2021 but rejected it in favour of moving to the Red Devils. When he signed for United on the 17th of August 2021, he became the first player in 57 years to swap Liverpool for Manchester United.
Having also had interest from Chelsea, the Red Devils did well to snap Ennis up, with the player being included on The Guardian’s list of top young talent at each Premier League club. On the 24th of December 2021, Ennis signed his first professional contract about two weeks after his 17th birthday. Having continued to make his way through the United youth system, Ennis signed a deal to join League Two side Doncaster Rovers on loan from the tenth of January 2025 until the end of the season, developing his eye for a pass and quality on the ball there.
