Ethan Williams – Midfielder Man United

When a player is born in Greater Manchester, there is a good chance that they’re going to end up on the books of one of the Manchester clubs. Given the fact that Manchester City have been winning everything there is to win, you would expect most players to sign with them. The competitive nature of the football club and the fact that they can attract players from all around the world means that not all of the local players do move there, however, and Ethan Williams is a great example of one who chose to join the books of Manchester United instead.

Born on the 14th of November 2005, the player signed up to the youth system of Rochdale as a youngster. In 2019, however, the Red Devils came calling, with Williams joining to join the club’s Academy as a teenager. Having made several appearances for the United Under-21 side in the EFL Trophy, Williams did enough to encourage Cheltenham Town to sign him on loan in the January of 2025 for the rest of the season. A talented winger, he adds a touch of flair to the final third and he makes sure that he works the goalkeeper whenever he gets the chance to do so.
