Gabriele Biancheri – Forward Man United

Hear the name Gabriele Cataldo Biancheri and you’d be forgiven for assuming that it was a player lining up for the likes of AC Milan or Juventus having been born in Italy. Instead, the forward was born in Cardiff in Wales on the 18th of September 2006, being called up to the Cardiff City Academy not long after.

His goal-scoring exploits there saw him move into the team’s Under-21s side and, more importantly, caught the eye of Manchester United. So it was that the Red Devils signed him in the February of 2023, putting him into the Academy with the aim of getting him first-team action.

It is, of course, no surprise to learn that he is of Italian heritage, as well as Canadian, meaning that he can play for any of Italy, Canada or Wales on the international stage. More importantly, the pacy, sharp, dynamic forward is on Manchester United’s books, helping the Red Devils to the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup in the 2024-2025 season.

Able to play across the front line, his eye for goal resulted in him scoring a third-round hat-trick against Coventry City in that competition, all whilst racking up the appearances for both the Under-18s and the Under-21s squad for United.
