Jack Kingdon – Defender Man United

Jack Kingdon was a Morecambe player before being brought into the Manchester United Academy. Born in Bolton on the 16th of November 2005, he has links to Scotland and is able to play for the Scotland national team as a result.

It was in 2020 that he left Morecambe’s Academy in order to join the ranks of the Red Devils youth setup, helping the club win 20 of their 24 Under-18s Premier League games on their way to winning the title. In the 2023-2024 campaign, he split his time between the Under-18s and the Under-21s, making eight appearances for the latter.

It was during the January transfer window at the start of 2025 that Kingdon made the move to join Rochdale on loan for the rest of the season. He had signed his first professional contract with the Red Devils the previous July, working with the Academy alongside being named the Scotland captain at the Under-18s level.

Part of the reason that Rochdale decided that they wanted to sign him was thanks to an impressive performance that he put in for United when the Red Devils took on the ‘Dale in the National League Cup at the Crown Oil Arena, playing all 90 minutes of the match.
