If you’re born in Manchester and good at football, there’s a solid chance that at least one of the two clubs in the city is going to pick you up. That is precisely what happened to Jack Moorhouse, who was born on the 29th of November 2005 and immediately joined the youth ranks of Manchester United. Such was the skill of the young midfielder that he was chosen to play in the Under-18s side when he was just 15-years-old before going on to play for the team in the FA Youth Cup. He continued to play for the Under-18s into the 2023-2024 season.

Having suffered an injury that kept him out of action for more than a year, he was eventually brought into the Under-21s side upon his return. The ball-carrying man in the middle quickly proved that the injury hadn’t had any impact on him by being nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for the December of 2024. Within a month, Moorhouse had been promoted to work with the first team and was part of the squad that travelled for the Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur, although he ultimately didn’t get onto the pitch.
