Born on the eighth of December 2006, Jaydan Dejon Kamason joined the youth academy of Stockport Vikings before being spotted by Manchester United scouts. Impressed by the young defender’s strength and poise, the Red Devils persuaded him to join their academy and sign up to the Emerging Talent Programme.

That meant that he was put on a fast track to success with the Red Devils, spending time working with coaches on a bespoke plan. The right-back was eventually moved up to work with the main group in United’s academy, making history not long afterwards.

Although the Red Devils don’t tend to announce when a player signs their first professional contract, they made an exception in the case of Kamason because he was the first graduate of the ETP to do so.
He helped the Under-18s to win the Professional Development League title as well as the Under-18s Youth Cup, being instrumental in the win in that competition thanks to the fact that he scored a late equaliser against Arsenal and his directness and dynamism in the right-back slot. Of Sierra Leonean descent but born in England, he played for the England Under-16s side.
