Malachi Sharpe – Forward Man United

Born in Nottingham on the 20th of November 2005, Malachi Sharpe actually plays for Scotland at the international level. The wide forward was compared to Jadon Sancho by some supporters when he was signed by Manchester United’s Academy back in the March of 2021, largely thanks to his speed with the ball at his feet. He had played for Derby County’s youth team, but was identified by the Manchester United scouting department as someone who could be a long-term prospect for them. He soon began making his way through the youth ranks at the Red Devils, impressing in the Under-21s.

He was one of three players signed from Derby County at around the same time, but injuries initially held him back. During his first two seasons with the Under-18s, for example, he was only able to play 13 times in the league. By the time he made it to the Under-21s, however, he had sorted out his fitness and became one of the most consistent young players. He played across the two age groups during the 2023-2024 campaign, scoring four goals in 13 appearances for the Under-18s as they went on to lift the title, scoring the last goal of the regular season against Everton.
