Shea Lacey – Forward Man United

It is fair to say that there isn’t exactly a wealth of Scousers on Manchester United’s books, in spite of the success that Wayne Rooney had during his spell at Old Trafford. That is exactly what they have in Shea Lacey, though, given the fact that the winger was born in Liverpool but sent to the Red Devils on account of the fact that his dad felt that the facilities and opportunities would be better at Man United. His older brother, Paddy, had rejected the club in favour of their fierce rivals Liverpool, only to end up being banned from professional football and even spending some time in prison.

His other brother, Luis Lacey, is also a professional footballer, with his sister Lauren making up the pack. Although both Paddy and Luis are both Liverpool supporters, Shea Lacey is a lifelong United fan. Having been interested in boxing when he was younger, he impressed at the youth level and he was called up to be part of the Under-18s when he was just 15. He also made a debut for the Under-21s when they played in a friendly against Feyenoord, with the fact that he is comfortable playing in a number of positions making him the ideal choice for any manager to turn to.
