Sonny Aljofree – Defender Man United

Sonny Aljofree was born in Plymouth on the 19th of December 2004. He was born into a football-playing family, with his father, Hasney Aljofree, having played for Plymouth Argyle. He signed for the Manchester United Academy as a youth prospect and made his way through the age ranks, being part of the squad that won the FA Youth Cup in the 2021-2022 season.

He was then taken up the Under-18s where he continued to impress in defence, eventually leading to a move up to the Under-21 side that played its games in Premier League 2. He did well enough to sign his first professional contract in the June of 2023.

🎂 Everyone at #asfc wishes Sonny Aljofree a happy 20th birthday.

Have a good one, Sonny!

Prior to that, he had trained with the United first-team squad ahead of the club’s opening game of the 2022-2023 Premier League season and in the February of 2023 he was one of three players who signed for Altrincham on loan. He renewed his loan with the non-league side in the February of the following year, which meant that he couldn’t play for the Manchester United first-team that season.

In the August of that year, he signed a loan deal with Accrington Stanley, having not played any league games with Altrincham but gained plenty of experience with both clubs, including scoring two goals for Accrington in his first 21 league games.
