Tyler Fredricson – Defender Man United

Tyler Edwin Fredricson was born in Manchester on the 23rd of February 2005. Having grown up in South Manchester, it is perhaps not all that surprising that the defender was quick to join the Manchester United youth system. Although he missed the final due to injury, being replaced by Louis Jackson, he played an important part in the club winning the FA Youth Cup in 2022.

In the May of that year, Fredricson signed his first professional contract, being promoted to the Under-21 side at the same time as being given opportunities to train with the first-team by the then-manager Erik Ten Hag.

When the Red Devils faced Real Sociedad in the UEFA Europa League in the September of 2022, Ten Hag showed his faith in the young defender by naming him on the bench. Shortly afterwards, however, he missed several months through injury, not returning to playing time until the April of 2024.

In the January of 2025, he was once again promoted to work with the first-team, travelling with the United squad that went to London for their game against Tottenham Hotspur on the 16th of February. Although he didn’t make it onto the pitch, he was named amongst the substitutes for the game.
