Manchester United go into their game with Everton this evening on the back of four draws in their last five league games at home. They remained in 5th place in the league following the weekend fixtures but need to find a victory in this game if they are to keep up hopes of a top four finish. Everton will be looking to return to winning ways having failed to win in their last four away games. They could move as high as 5th with a win at Old Trafford.
Wednesday sees Chelsea host Manchester City at Stamford Bridge, where they will be looking to bounce back following their surprise defeat to Crystal Palace. That was their first loss at home since September in the league but a win will at the very least maintain their lead at the top. City can close the gap with a victory but a defeat could see them fall closer to the teams behind. The previous meeting this season ended 3-1 to Chelsea.
Tottenham travel to Swansea tomorrow evening in search of their second away win in a row. They have one win in their last four away from White Hart Lane but have been in good league form over the past month. A victory could close the gap on Chelsea to less than seven points should the Blues fail to win. Swansea have won once in their last five league games and sit just a point above the relegation zone.
Liverpool have won their last four home games in a row and next visitors to Anfield are Bournemouth. Liverpool moved third at the weekend and a win on Wednesday would help cement a place in the top four. Bournemouth have pulled themselves to safety after some good recent form and currently sit 11th in the table. A win in this game could move them into the top half.
Arsenal face West Ham at home in a fixture which they won 5-1 earlier in the season. The home side are in desperate need of a win to get their season back on track following just one win in their last six league games. They have lost only once to a team outside the top eight this season however. West Ham are in their own slump at the moment and although they are six points above the relegation places, there are becoming fewer teams between themselves and the bottom.
West Brom travel to Watford tonight looking to seal their place at the top of mid-table. They are eight points ahead of the teams below but could move within three of Everton above if results go their way. Watford moved to 12th after the weekends win and if they make it two from two The Hornets can move into the top half themselves.
Stoke travel to Burnley on the back of three winless games. Despite those results they have remained in 9th place but are eight points behind West Brom above them. Burnley need to rediscover their early season home form and get a win in this game. They are quickly becoming the side which others below will target to overtake and they do not yet have enough points to survive. A win in this game could see them move back towards the top 10 and safety.
10th place Southampton face a difficult task tomorrow night as they host in form Crystal Palace. Southampton have won just three of their last 11 games but, with games in hand on those around them they will be looking to tighten their grip on a top half finish. Palace on the other hand have won their last four in a row, including against leaders Chelsea, and conceded just once. They have still not fully cleared danger of relegation but if they continue this form then they will have little to worry about.
Leicester go into their home match with Sunderland looking for their fifth win in a row. They are now up to 13th in the league and are eyeing up a top half finish. Sunderland are bottom of the league and looking increasingly likely to be relegated. They have lost eight of their last 12 and haven’t scored a goal in five attempts.
Hull face Middlesbrough at home looking to put more distance between the two sides and hoping to climb out of the relegation zone. Since Marco Silva’s arrival Hull are unbeaten at home and if they can follow up on Saturday’s win with another tomorrow then they will have a chance of survival. Middlesbrough have fallen into serious danger of relegation due to going 12 games without a victory. They have scored just four goals over that time and unless they can turn that around they could soon find the gap too much to claw back.
