Medicals Completed and Contracts extended

MEDICAL COMPLETED

Romelu Lukaku completed his medical in Los Angeles a few hours ago. Personal terms have reportedly been agreed at around £200k a week. United are expected to unveil him with big fanfare in Hollywood, hence the delay in announcing the completion of the transfer. Lukaku who had the opportunity to speak to ESPN a while back, said: “[Mourinho is] a guy who I wanted to play for since I was ten years old, so now to have the opportunity to work under him again is great. It’s a club that is hungry to win the league again, to be dominant in the world again.  It’s the sort of opportunity I’ve always wanted since a child. When they came calling I didn’t have to think twice, so I’m really delighted be part of history. Who would say no to the biggest club in the world? The best stadium in England, the best fans. I mean, it’s the perfect opportunity.”

AGENT P

Lukaku also confirmed the role Agent Pogba played in the transfer. He said: “I’ve been talking to [Pogba] for about seven or eight years. We’re together on a daily basis. He was explaining to me how it went at the club, and it triggered something in my head. When the opportunity came, I didn’t have to think twice. I’m really excited.”

BEATING CHELSEA TO THE PUNCH. AGAIN

Mourinho wants United to complete the transfer of James Rodriguez from Real Madrid. Chelsea are also interested in the want-away Colombian but Florentino Perez remains difficult in negotiations. A £52m move has been mooted for Rodriguez. Rodriguez is now United’s priority signing after completing Lukaku’s move.

MEDICAL COMPLETED II

Wayne Rooney was spotted at Everton’s Finch Farm training base, presumably for a medical. Rooney reportedly passed the medical and personal terms were being negotiated. Rooney is expected to take a big pay cut to make the return to Everton Blue. The move is set to be confirmed later today. Rooney is expected at Carrington today as he bids farewell to his teammates and a place that was his home for the past 13 trophy-laden years.

JANUZAJ LATEST

Adnan Januzaj inches closer to a United exit after he was told by United that he doesn’t have a place on the squad for the upcoming Tour. Januzaj was also told he doesn’t have a squad number at Old Trafford. Januzaj is expected to make his exit soon.

CONTRACT EXTENDED

Manchester United and Joel Pereira came to an agreement as the player inked a new four year deal that will keep him at Old Trafford until 2021. The deal can be extended for a further year. Pereira has had a breakthrough at Old Trafford and is a favorite of manager Jose Mourinho.
